Dec 02, 2011 in Baby Showers

Nowadays, more and more parents are opting to keep the gender of the baby a surprise, either until their gender reveal baby shower (which is gaining so much popularity) or until delivery. As much fun as it is to keep the baby’s gender a surprise to all, it makes gift giving and baby shower throwing a little bit tougher for family and friends. Without knowing the gender of the baby, what color do you choose aside from the traditional pink and blue? Well, yellow of course! And to mod it up, pair yellow and gray for an ultra chic and modern color palette. So naturally, we had to feature this gorgeous yellow & gray elephant themed baby shower from Bump Smitten.

The vellum mobiles and paper pom poms added a huge burst of sunny yellow color to the room. We also love that they incorporate the ever-so-popular elephant theme to the baby shower, which matched with their animal-themed nursery just perfectly. The cute little elephant punch outs were made using the Martha Stewart elephant punch that we mentioned on our post a few months back. We love how they used such vibrant yellow candies and sweets for their dessert table, to really bring some vibrancy and fun to the overall baby shower decor.

Weddings

Finding the perfect gift for your bridesmaids is really darn hard, especially if you want to give all of the girls the same gift (no favoritism!). Instead of the usual, consider gifting stylish hand clutches to your bridesmaid besties. Not only can they be used as part of the bridal party attire, they [...]

We absolutely love monochromatic color palettes in modern party design. When executed poorly, the single color tones can appear dull and uninteresting but when executed brilliantly…my oh my! There’s nothing in the world like it. When we spotted this pretty all white christmas dessert table by Merryl White Events, it just confirmed our love for monochromatic colors. All white tones are very hard to pull off without looking washed out which is why we completely appreciate [...]

There’s nothing more calming and satisfying than catching up with old friends over a nice cup of hot tea. The best tea parties offer a few variety of tea choices, like green, black, and flavored teas. Sandwiches, pastries and sweet cookies all make wonderful complements to the slight bitterness of classic tea. Some of the more popular sandwich flavors for tea parties are cucumber/mayo, fig/apple, salmon/dill and egg salad/grapes. Keep [...]
